Varsity excitement

Ahead of this year's annual Varsity Match, players from Oxford and Cambridge visited two of our care homes!

Agnes Court

Players from Oxford University's  men's and women's ruby team visited Agnes Court, in Banbury, to chat about all things rugby with the residents.

‘It was lovely to meet everyone and today was a great experience.’

Residents also joined players in front of the camera to star in a  film about disability which will be shown at the match!

‘The experience of today was just incredible. It’s great that as we’ve had so many opportunities in our lives, we get to give something back to people who haven’t had as many.’

— Sophie Behan, Oxford women’s rugby team captain

Cambridge University rugby players dropped into The Manor, in Brampton, to meet the resident ahead of the ‘Battle of the Blues’.

‘This is my first Varsity match as captain and this visit kicks off the build up to the game nicely.

‘It was lovely to meet everyone at The Manor.’

— Lara Gibson, Cambridge women’s rugby team captain

The Varsity Match, which we have been the charity partner since 2014, will take place at Twickenham stadium on Thursday 7 December.
