What is a sensory room? It’s where technology and Gary Barlow meet
19 November 2015
People at Green Gables care home in Derbyshire love their new sensory bathroom!
It was bought with a kind donation left by one of our supporters in their will.
The new sensory bath was installed in 2014 and has made a huge difference.
Residents who use the bath often have high dependency needs and very limited movement.
The bath helps them to relax in an environment that stimulates their senses.
The coloured light tubes and bubbles helping them to feel calm and invigorated.
Many more residents are now using the bathroom, which also features a relaxing jacuzzi bath with sound system.
One woman who visits as part of our respite programme cannot use a bath in her own home and so loves nothing more than listening to Gary Barlow in the jacuzzi when she comes to visit!
