Sian in the City
12 September 2014
Channel 5 presenter Sian Welby closed deals and helped raise funds for Leonard Cheshire Disability at the Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day on Thursday 11 September.
Sian joined other well-known faces at the world famous event, organised to commemorate the 658 employees who died in World Trade Centre attack in 2001. The celebrity charity ambassadors helped to raise funds for the charities by brokering deals with Cantor Fitzgerald clients across the world. Leonard Cheshire Disability was selected as one of the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund’s chosen charities for its annual global fundraiser.
Sian later wrote about the day on her blog:
‘It was an incredible vibe being on the floor where all the deals were going off! Just like the movies, all of them had an old fashioned phone at their desk and there was a lot of shouting back and forth across the room!
‘Today has been completely awesome and I’m glad I could help do some deals and raise some cash for those in need.’
Hugo Middlemas, our director of fundraising, said: ‘We were honoured and thrilled to be one of the nominated charities to take part in Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day.
‘One in six of us will be affected by disability at some point in our lives. For many of us, it will be the hardest thing we ever have to face. If it does happen, we are there to support disabled people across the UK to rebuild their lives and do things that matter to them.’
