Run the London Marathon for inclusive development

14 January 2014

Now we’ve started a brand new year, why not set yourself an amazing challenge for 2014 and run the marathon for Leonard Cheshire Disability’s international projects?

15% of the world’s population are living with a disability and they are routinely denied their most basic human rights – cut off from education, employment and healthcare. Many live in extreme poverty. Only 2% of children with disabilities have access to education in many parts of the developing world and 90% of people with disabilities in many developing countries are out of work.

At Leonard Cheshire Disability, we work to change that, with a variety of different projects focussing on education, livelihoods, research and rights-based policy and campaigns.

Joining the Leonard Cheshire Disability marathon team means you’ll be well looked after, with VIP treatment all the way. You’ll be getting:

  • Welcome Pack with free running vest, training & fundraising guides, and a voucher for money off running gear.
  • Newsletters and updates in the run up to April
  • Cheering points on the day to spur you on
  • A post-event party once you’ve crossed the finish line, with goody bags, massages and refreshments!

And what better to motivate you than running for a fantastic cause?  The money you raise can go towards all international work, or if you’d rather support a particular area or region you can request that the money only be spent there. You could even select a particular project from the website that you would like to support.

If you are interested in joining our marathon team, please visit our London Marathon page and sign up today! Why not get a small group of friends or colleagues together and do it as a team?

Or if you’d like to find out a little more first, give Klara a call on 020 3242 0264 or email

Go on… take on the challenge!
