Making a splash
9 August 2017
Three residents from Appley Cliff took the plunge earlier this month by taking a trip down the Solent on an adapted boat!
Laura, Richard and Michael took part in Cowes Week 2017 — thanks to Wetwheels!
Wetwheels, which operates adapted boats to support disabled people get onto the water, is run by Stelios Award winner Geoff Holt MBE.
The weather was on their side with only blue skies and smiles all round!
The three residents even got the chance to take on the role of skipper and take control of the wheel.
‘It was a really great experience. Well worth it.
‘Being able to steer the boat was exhilerating. I enjoyed going fast.’
