Hatching a plan for Easter
13 April 2017
Residents at a care home in Yorkshire have recently made some fluffy new friends — just in time for Easter.
After seeing how much residents loved pet therapy sessions (whether they're creepy crawlies or pygmy goats!), Wharfedale House in Yorkshire hatched the new idea of helping baby chicks into the world.
One of the residents said he felt like 'an expectant father' as they waited for eggs to hatch!
‘All of the residents, and staff, loved watching the hatching process — with one lady spending most of that time sitting next to the incubator watching and naming the chicks as they came out.’
All of the chicks have been re-homed locally so residents and staff can be kept updated.
