11 runners to fund new accessible kitchen for Greenhill House
1 March 2016
Eleven runners with a connection to Greenhill House will take on the picturesque but punishing Bath Half Marathon on 13 March.
‘We have a couple of experienced runners signed up, but I have never attempted a marathon of any kind before and many of us are completely new to it.’
John Budd, who has lived with Parkinson’s disease for almost 20 years and lives at Greenhill House, entered the Bath Half Marathon himself last year as a wheelchair user, and will be among those to benefit from this year’s fundraising.
‘For the stimulation it gives me, the home is everything to me.
‘Taking part in the marathon last year was the best day of my life.
‘The moments where I look into my wife’s eyes and see love not pity in her are what I pray for.’
The team are hoping to raise at least £2,000, which will go some way towards funding a much-needed new accessible kitchen.
