Enjoy activities

Resident with a family member sitting in the gardenThe home offers a range of activities for residents including arts and crafts, quizzes, karaoke and gardening. Our

activities coordinator also arranges trips out based on what the residents would like to do. You’ll have the chance to be social, get creative or enjoy exercise — you choose.

Group activities aren’t for everyone and you might just want to do things on your own. If so, we can help. If you need support one option is to find a volunteer to come along with you.

Whatever activities you’d like to do you can always talk to one of our team about the different choices available to you.

Carole's story

Carol, a resident at John Masefield House

‘My name’s Carole and I’ve lived here for a few months. Before I came here I lived at another Leonard Cheshire home in Enfield.

‘We go out quite a lot — to the park, shopping — there’s always something on. I’ll have a go at anything even if I make a mess of it. I’m a get up and go person. I’m always singing or joining in with anything that’s going on.

‘I’m mad on sports. I’ve got my own TV in my room and watch a lot of sport. When I was younger I used to swim a lot, and twice I got through to the All England finals.

‘My room is lovely and the carers are so nice. I just thoroughly enjoy living here.’
