A third of all children who are out of school are estimated to have a disability.

We have supported over 23,000 children with disabilities to go to school through our inclusive education projects in Africa and Asia.

Inclusive education means children with disabilities going to mainstream schools alongside children without disabilities. Teaching methods, textbooks, materials and school facilities are designed to make sure disabled children are included. Find out more about our innovative work in inclusive education — download Innovation in inclusive education (PDF).

Our education projects are implemented with local partners, many of whom are part of the Leonard Cheshire Global Alliance.
