Howdens staff take on 24-hour cycle challenge
9 April 2018
Staff at Howdens Joinery in King’s Lynn took on a 24-hour cycling challenge for us, raising over £1,400 and counting!
A team of 11 staff at the Kings Lynn depot got hold of a static bike and pushed themselves to the limit to bring in vital funds for our charity, with the total soon expected to reach £1500.
Cycling from 8am on 23 March to 8am on 24 March, the team covered an impressive combined distance of 520 miles.
Rory, from Howdens King’s Lynn, told us:
‘We all enjoyed taking part in the event. It was fun, crazy, long, hard work and we all had sore bums, but it was well worth it.
‘Leonard Cheshire is a great charity. It is the chosen charity at Howdens, and here in Kings Lynn we have local links with the organisation — Park House in Sandringham.’
Park House Hotel is an award-winning service offering much-needed breaks — and fully accessible facilities — to disabled people and their families or support workers.
This summer, our annual Cycle Together event in aid of Park House Hotel returns on Sunday 15 July. The family friendly event, which is open to disabled and non-disabled riders, features several routes through Sandringham and the West Norfolk countryside.
